Hey everyone

Thanks everyone for the lovely dinner tonight. Though it might be far from any celebration any of you might expect but thanks. Thanks for the food. Yong tau fo. Great stuff man. And thanks for the booze. This birthday has really been something for me.
Anyway.. I just wanna thank everyone for tonight. And for those who missed it, WM and JC. I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say that we miss you. =)

WOW!

God is great! After all my grumbling about being bored and living so monotously God answered my prayer. Firstly I would like to thank everyone in woot how have prayed for me.
I remember my first prayer in woot and that was to spend my time improving my talents for God. The later was for more Godly excitement? Here is the deal, I joinned CapmusCity's worship team and I knew that the experience gained from playing in a bigger "band" would benifit me greatly. I am supposed to play guitar for the first time tomorrow but I never expected God to plan something this big (it is big to me). I thought my first time playing in CampusCity would be in the usual place, upstairs in a shop lot.
Tomorrow they are having CampusCity at the a.y.a. cafe which is in front of the main taylors. God is doing great things with the place. We intend to turn the cafe into a student lounge for the public to use. Anyway.. I will be one of the two guitarists playing tomorrow. The place will be open to the public and I feel so nervous and excited at the same time. I certainly did not expect my first time playing there to be so open to the public and it would be a duet guitar thing. Okay.. my mind is racing in different directions. I AM very excited. God IS great.
Keep serving the lord with the talents He put in you and He will surely bring and increase in what you have offered Him =)

I would like to know

As YC has shared, I would just like to know if any of you ever shared the gospel. If so, is it to a stranger, friend of relative. How have you shared the gospel. I've talked to some friends about Jesus before. Their response is that Jesus seems great but its not their cup of tea. In the back of my mind I'm thinking that the current generation view religion as a mere activity. God is another just another person, like a friend that we do not need to fear or have reverence.
Do share what you guys think..

Prayer

Pray with confidence
Mark 11:24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
Pray with a purpose
Matthew 7:7-8 Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.
Isn’t it different how God works with a new born Christian compared to those who are more mature? When God lead the Israelites out of Egypt, God provided everything. When they needed water, there was water. When they needed food, there was manna. A pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night were for them.
God gave them everything they needed and yet these people grumbled. When they reached the boarder of the promise land, the Lord told them to march once around the city with all the armed for 6 days. On the 7th day they were to have 7 priests carry trumpets and horns in front of the ark. They were to march 7 times around the city before giving a loud shout. When they did all that the city wall collapsed and the people could go straight in.
So many procedures involved for them just to “get” into the promise land. The whole 7 days, what they did was their prayer to the Lord for them to enter the promise land. The thing is, God will provide us with everything even when we do not pray. He knows our need before we even pray so why pray?
Pray with confidence that what we ask for we already received. Pray with a purpose and know what we are asking for. Seek and we will find, knock and the door will be opened. In Christ we are made more than over-comers, more than conquerors. If we do not ask in prayer, God is only ever going to bless us with manna and water. In God’s faithfulness He will continue to give us the bare minimum. But God desires us to march around our Jericho. He desires for us to ask, He desires for us to pray. God wants us to enter the promise land.
We should mature and not remain a spiritual infant being fed manna without asking. It is darn right unhealthy.

a monday night

I don't know how many of you have been bogged down by work or other pressures but I've been pretty bogged down lately. Last sunday a whole group of my friends left for Aussie. The thought of all my close friends who left is still sinking in.
While I was having my daily dose of the bible I came across romans 13:11. It says ".. The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed"
After reading that the thought of my friends who left and having to make new friends didn't bog me down anymore. I'm glad for all the friendships I've had, glad to be a wooter, and more happy knowing that my salvation draws nearer each day.

Source of Salvation (S.O.S)

While Pastor Ryan was preaching this girl kept mocking the words God spoke through him.
Her friend was explaining to her that a rich man had to give up everything he has for God. Pastor Ryan then said God’s salvation is FREE! She mocked her friend because she got it wrong. She even said “everything is possible without God”.
Throughout the whole message she mocked Jesus. My friends sitting in front of her were wondering when she would stop. The bible says that God cannot be mocked, amen? Later during the altar call she came forward. God must have worked up something in her heart.
She came forward with tears rolling down her face.
I believe that EVERYTHING is possible with Jesus. He is truly the one and only Savior and He can forgive us for any amount of sin we commit when we come to repentance. Seeing a person with such a hard and cold heart like that made soft through the Word touched me.
Mark 9:24 “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief”
I pray that Jesus well help us overcome any unbelief in all of is.
