Festive Celebrations

We, the WOOT-ers, honour any public holiday, regardless of whether the occasion has got anything to do with us.

In conjunction with the long weekend holidays, we, the WOOT-ers, have held a BBQ-cum-steamboat party at CC's house. Although the weather has not been very supportive of our plans, we were determined. Come strong winds and gushing rain, the BBQ plan went ahead and steamboat was, of course, unfaltered. Thanks to SH the steamboat man and KY the BBQ uncle. We had plenty supply of food for the night.

The party doesn't end at the food. What is a party without ... the booze?

I have lost count of how many types of liquor and wine we had for the night. The only one I could remember was the tequila pop, scotch whisky and the one which has a burning sensation the moment you gulp it down your throat. By the time everyone was done, we had two casualties (the two lying down on the couch), a couple of insane talk, a silly game of numbers and a girl who apparent "walked like a snake".

The morning after? Yours truly is still sober enough to write an account of I-know-what-you-did last night. Not sure about the rest.

As for the pic above, the "Kehscejehieng Arhierbbellldiere" coaster which we initially used for the popping of the tequila had gotten so soggy that we had to turn to the good old ah pek chinese tea cup cover.

Sunday Report

cc
It's a wet lonely October Sunday with a lot to think and to ponder upon. Thinking of green trees and green grass all day long. I need that break, something to get me going. Anyway just want to congratulate Sean for doing his first Liturgy in church today. He looks dam serious, thanks to me, his acting coach.
On other matter, MU beat Liverpool 2-0. I just have to rub it in, but watching the match I realize that Liverpool is no longer a rival that we should be scared of, I think we're more afraid of Reading now, based on that performance.

Anyway I just hope that this Tuesday will not rain, it'll be bad for the bbq but at least if it does rain, we'll just chunk everything into the Lok- Lok. See you guys!

When Was The Last Time

I seriously can't remember when was the last time we had a WOOT. Hey, I'm not complaining here. But seriously, I couldn't even remember which was the book that we are supposed to be reading.

It has been dinner after dinner, booze after booze Fridays after Fridays.

The above picture is just a shot I took from last week's dinner at The Curve...oh no...Ikano, whereby Sean was supposed to give us a surprise (sUrPriSee!!!). It's called pappardelle Mona Lisa. I tried Googling it but couldn't find anywhere else which sells it. Apparently it's quite an exclusive dish lah.

Tonight the WOOT is supposed to be revived...and I just saw CC coming online on MSN.

BTW, due to technical error, the exact duplicate of the above post appears on the Walls and Bridges as well.

Hari Raya Holidays

To every WOOT-ers/non-WOOT-ers-but-invited-to-this-blogpage,

Still remember our long-mentioned but never-planned Deeparaya holidays?

If there's 4 of us, I guess we can start planning for something. I have decided to postpone my balik kampung trip to next year (dates to be confirmed), which means that I'll be around during the 1-week long holiday :)

If interested, there's several places which I've come up with:

Of course, the list above is not exhaustive. For a 2-day trip (that's when most people are available, I presume), we'll have to settle for somewhere near enough, yet not too crowded, at the same time open for business.

Any better suggestions is most welcomed :)

And, anyone who's not a total stranger to either one of us is invited...

New diseases in Malaysia

KY

As if we don't have enough to worry about with the outbreaks of the Bird flu, the Malaysian Ministry of Health

is now asking the public to be on the lookout for symptoms of the following new contagious diseases.

DO YOU KNOW SOMEONE WITH THESE CONTAGIOUS DISEASES?

ASSMA
Severe rashes around the mouth caused by kissing too many ass es.
The number-one disease in Malaysia amongst civil servants.

DIALARRHOEA
Uncontrollable urge to continually dial friends on mobile phone to share with them such important information as "I'm now on the monorail", or "I'm walking towards the car."
Victims can be recognized by large, twitching thumb.

MEESLES
Blotchy skin condition caused by eating too many packets of instant noodles.

MULTIPLE SPOUSOSIS
Affliction whereby victims make frequent trips to Vietnam , Thailand , Indonesia , and China to take on additional brides. Middle-aged men are at significant risk.

YELLOW FEVER
Compulsion to date Asian females. Very common affliction amongst foreign celebrities and caucasian expatriates working in Malaysia . Also known as Pinkerton's Disease.

EKOR-TOTONUS
Flushed complexion, high blood pressure and sometimes depression at finding out one has not won any gaming numbers, lotteries and desparate looking for work.

Excessively large breasts. This disease comes in several variant strains ...
Heavytitis A; Heavytitis B; Heavytitis C, and sometimes Heavytitis DD.

CYBERTENSION
Feelings of stress and panic caused by lack of internet access.

A compulsive need to colour one's hair. Reddish brown tints are the most common symptom, but health authorities have reported a new strain of blond highlights.

CHICKEN TOX
Victims exhibit a great need to talk cock. Incurable and highly contagious.
Spread by ordinary conversation, and may be exacerbated by good food and alcohol.

Politicians and lawyers are especially susceptible. Incurable

just joke for the day (KY)

Dissolve that PVC

cc
After months and months searching for a chemical that could dissolve PVC, I finally found one chemical that could the the job easily. I can only find it in ACE hardware and I have to thank Sean but for the wrong reason. He told me to go Harvey in Ikano for some hardware stuff, so I went there and notice that Harvey is an electrical shop!!!! Not a DIY hardware shop!! Man, he took me for a ride, I can't use a Plasma TV to do the job.... walking down feeling so pissed, I suddenly saw ACE hardware Even bigger than the one in MidValley. So I went in an buy 10 different types of chemical. Came back try one by one and finally found the perfect one for me. Feeling is better than finding a soul mate...even greater than getting 10mil dollars from Sean and far far far greater than having dry martini with friends.

Rambling...

Posted by IGH
I'm taking my "baby step" into the sphere of the Wooters' blog (after being"nudged" by a persistent person. Sean, we're in the same boat!)

I enjoy reading all of your updates. Actually, it has served as the "therapy" for my current state of culture stress at this new phase of training. It hit me really bad three weeks ago. I am still in the aftermath of trying to put things in perspective.
One important thing I learnt through this season is God is sufficient for me.

Being the only Chinese in the centre, I sometimes find it hard to relate to the Anglo people. There are two Korean families, though. As far as Asians are concerned, I am the minority among the minority.

In my previous trainings, I always have Chinese community that has helped my adjustment periods.
This time... I discover that I do not have that pillar of support anymore. God has used this season to make me be dependent on Him more. He has been my pillar of comfort!

Anyway....
Have a question for you guys and gals...
I lost my car key. Okay, my roommate borrowed it and put it back on my bed. It's a bunk bed and I sleep on the top bunk.
I didn't know that she has already returned it that day. It's my laundry day. So, I just took all my beddings and dumped it into the washing machine. Later, I realized that the she put the key on my bed.
I asked the plumber to check on the washing machine but didn't find anything. I checked the walkway and my room several times with no evident result. So...
Any suggestions of what I should do?
It has been missing for about a month now...
