Worship

How many of you attended the Worship Seminar by Colin Kirton today? As I'm writing, KY is still at the seminar and I'm interested to know how did it go and what was being addressed during this seminar.

Last Sunday the topic of the sermon was on worship too. What is the meaning of worship? Why do we worship? How do we worship? Some pointers which I took home was:

• Worship is only for God's glory
• Worship involves expectancy and preparation
• Worship involves sacrifice
• Worship is not dependent on our feelings

One thing which I would like to add on - worship does not happen only on Sundays. Yesterday I had a short 10 minutes break at work when I had nothing to do but to wait. During this waiting time, I started to think about how I had spent my days (other than Sundays). Then I realized that I seemed to have a "Presence of God" button - it's flipped on on Sundays and the rest of the days it's automatically switched off. Do you have this button too?

God is not a God of Sundays. Our Lord deserves more of our time and attention than we think we're giving. Let's leave the "Presence of God" button on all the time.
