During this time of my ministry in church, I am into teaching the kids in the Sunday school service every 2nd week of the month, leading the youth bible study, playing the lead guitar/ bass guitar for worship sessions and a liturgy to facilitate in the evening services. As much as I love in serving the Lord faithfully in these area of ministries, I know that long term success in life and ministry is to obey what Jesus commanded, that is to make disciples of all nations, and you can never mass produce leaders.
I’ve always been praying to God to raise up as many spiritual leaders as possible who are passionate about the kingdom of God, and who fervently wants to fulfill the Great Commission in their lives and in their generation. And I must lament that such individuals are becoming scarce.
There are many who desire to get into dance and music ministry, but they may not be necessarily passionate to obey Jesus’ commission. Then there are those who want to debate with you about the latest theological issue, but have no real concern about the core matters of the kingdom of God. BUT the majority is just plain indifferent and lukewarm.
As part of my ministry in the Sunday School and MIYF bible study group, please pray for discernment, wisdom and long suffering to uncover and mentor these young people to become potential leaders to be harvest workers and spiritual leaders for the kingdom of God.
In line with this life goal, I plan to enroll in the BSF Internationals for Christian Studies programme(still pending as I am still in the waiting list). It may take me a long period complete this program (like 6-10 years). Some may think that is very long, but I take it as a short intensive time of preparation for the next 30-40 years of ministry to come(If the Lord has not called me home earlier). I pray and hope to build up and to train even more future pastors and leaders for the work of the kingdom.
