NoiseNOiseNOIseNOISeNOISE!!!!!!!!

cc
Lately I've been suffering.... living a life of agony. I have been having this problem for some time now but lately it has started to surface. Like Godzilla emerging from the sea...
so are my problems. NOISE pollution in my bedroom. It's not something to be laughed at, it's so bad I swear I would prefer radioactive radiation pollution compared to this. These 3 things will kill me before I die of severe radioactive exposure...
1) EL's dog - this dog will cry once a while especially early blinking in the morning.
2) My neighbor's baby - this fella will cry 24 7. I think she's not human, maybe a crying robot
3) My mum's vacuum cleaner - this 20 yrs old machine has been my mum's favorite. Reason is because it is so loud she thinks it is possible to suck in all the virus on the floor. Harloww... the second law of Thermodynamics??? Although the total energy is still the same, it gets converted into a "low-grade" energy which is useless like NOISE. So the noisier the vacuum cleaner, the less efficient it is to convert electrical energy into suction energy. Quiet vacuum cleaner is the solution.
Although I can't apply the same concept to a dog and a baby, I am just desperate to solve this problem. So I search "Reducing Noise" in OSHA website and found some solution:

  • Based on the risk assessment, put in place a programme of measures to:
    • Where possible, eliminate sources of noise;
    • Control noise at source;
    • Provide personal protective equipment to employees as a last resort
Judging from the solution offered, I think I can only go for option 2 and 3 (not going to jail for option 1 man). Let me see about option 2.... EL will probably say "the dog is sad. So let him cry la" which is true since she ditch the dog here and my neighbor will probably say "baby sure cry wad, don't let me catch your nephew crying next time" which is also true as well. So I guess I have to go for option 3. An ear plug.
My shopping list for CNY?

A new quiet vacuum cleaner and an ear plug.
