Cut it short!!!

Okay okay boss, I'm sorry. I didn't know we have so much going this week.

Well, you better pay attention. We have a lot of announcement and programs to announce. Not forgetting this week we are sending a few people off to mission work. So we need the time.

But I have 5 songs to sing. These songs could bring up the worship mood and could enhance the message of the sermon.

Yes I know, but other events are as important as well.

But isn't Worship more important than anything? The reason why people goes to church is to Worship God. And besides that, we are made to Worship. Singing songs of praise unto our mighty Maker, singing of His love for you and I and committing our lives to Him.

I know, but announcement is also part of Worship. It is so, because the congregation might want to get involve to serve God. Serving Him is part of worship as well.

What about all the others extra stuff that we Methodist need to do in church? Like following a standard SOP during service or giving out gifts during parents day or making announcement on event that has nothing to do with serving God?

Don't ask so many questions. Bottom line, they are all to worship God.

So you're saying that all these extras things, whatever it is as long as it is done in church, is Worshiping God?

Yes!
--------------------------------------end------------------------------------------------------
Facts:
1) We are currently spend less than 10% of our time in church singing praises to God.
2) Whenever there is a major event, our time singing praise may even drop below 5%.
3) There is no line between what is worship and activities - only gray areas.
4) Since there are no distinctive line between worship and extra activities, one would consider everything that occurs within that service period are worshiping God.
5) Praise and worship session are usually requested to end early to give way to all the extra activities - either because it is a mission Sunday, or we are requested to say a covenant than quite frankly no one understand why.

Not necessary a fact
1) I was thinking, that if we slowly push praise and worship aside to make way to all these events, what are we teaching our children? or the new comers? or even ourselves? The fundamental of our faith lies in our ability to express our feeling to God, because He is worthy. If one consider singing to God a simple ritual like making announcement then I am afraid that it will lead to a spiritual poverty in our church because even we ourselves do not know what is really important. What is really important?
