I can't believe it. It's been so long since the last time I posted that I've forgotten the username and password for this blog. I tried about ten times with the different username and passwords (which I think makes sense), but none of them could grant me access to log in. I could've called up someone and ask, but my ego got the better of me. After all, I'm the one who got offended (and upset) when people asks me for the username and password for this blog.
Luckily, I have granted myself (i.e. my personal username and password) permission to blog. So I'm now logged into the account with my own Gmail account.
Anyways, yes, I missed writing so much that I have chosen not to watch Transformers but to stay up at 11.33pm (yes, very late indeed, for my record) to write a post instead. I've always said that I should've majored in Literature in uni. At least with that I could've freelanced for magazines and newspapers. I doubt that anyone would need freelancers with a Stats degree at this point in time.
So...
I've just read Psalm 144 when I was trying to catch up with my daily bible reading plan. Honestly speaking, it's been getting a little bit challenging for me to concentrate on the book of Psalms now since I have been reading it since the beginning of the year. Nevertheless, it's the Word of God and I hold on to the faith that God speaks to us in many possible manners. Today, as I was trying to understand His Word by googling for Psalm 144 commentary, I've finally found out why He used rock, fortress and shield so frequently to describe Himself. Psalm 144:1 - 2 mentions all three "objects" and this is what I found from a website.
Verses 1 and 2 make us think about Psalm 18. Psalm 18:2 tells
us that God is like David’s rock, his fortress, and his shield. God is like
David’s rock because David can "build" his life on God. A rock will not move if
there is trouble. In the same way, God will not move. He will always be there to
send help. A fortress is a strong building. People are safe in a fortress. In
the same way, people are safe with God. So "like a strong place" is the same as
"like a fortress". A shield was what soldiers held over their bodies. It stopped
their enemies hitting them.
Now... did you know that? (Just pretend to be amazed, if you've already learned about this long long ago.)
