Romans 11

I was reading Romans 11 and .... as usual I could not understand so I decided to dig up some literature concerning it and found some really interesting pointers with respect to Kw's blog below. You see Paul was reasoning with his own people about God's sovereignty - cut the story short, some Jews were chosen and some Jews are not. Matter of election. Then there was this question, if the Jews failed to acknowledge Jesus Christ, has God's word failed as well? (that is because the Jews was under the impression the fulfillment of God's word depended on the Jews - as usual they always think they are the center of attention). In response, again I am not doing Paul a favor here by cutting it short again, God's sovereignty outweights man's failure. Which means you can screw up but God's purpose will still be fuifilled. It is regardless of what you do and how you do. The same like His grace. It is not via your good works that earn you a spot in heaven but rather it is A.
where
A = election + man's responsibility to respond = God's sovereignty

Anyway, the application here is very clear. Why do we even compare when whatever things we do now serves a purpose for God. You can be a great preacher and God will use it for His glory, or you can do a small tiny job that no one cares but God will use it for His glory the same. Whatever you do, God gets the glory. His sovereignty prevails above all our expectation, all our failures and all of our successes.

So when we see a person who is doing so well in a church and so many leaders like it, where is the focus? It's on man's wisdom, it's secular. It's because they failed to put God in the equation. But when God place you in a place with much difficulty and little help and little encouragement, it is because He wants to get all the glory when things happen. We are a vessel. Let God uses us for His glory.
