An article implied that God has a wife, and this woman is supposedly non other than the fertility goddess Asherah. Just look at how unbelievers choose to interpret the Bible passages. It just sounds so ridiculous that I almost wanted to laugh out loud in the library as I was reading it.
An academic with a PhD in theology has apparently made this claim on BBC in the series "The Bible's Buried Secrets." Well, not suprisingly, she's an atheist. I just wonder how she could have done so much research in this area, read so much of the Bible (perhaps more than many Christians), yet she didn't hear the Holy Spirit. She reminds me of Pharaoh whose heart was hardened despite seeing many of God's miraculous signs in the book of Exodus.
